Aside from a plethora of attractive and attractively priced condo rentals in Playa del Carmen, part-time residents or seasonal visitors to the town will enjoy endless entertainment and relaxation opportunities. Whether you lean toward the natural wonders or prefer to revel in a more cosmopolitan atmosphere, there is something for everyone and every season:

• Nature-lovers: See pristine jungles, caves, lagoons and indigenous wildlife at Xel-Ha and The Aviary.
• Nautical fans: Kick back on a pangas cruise or hook a marlin on a serious fishing expedition.
• Nibblers: Whatever you reel in, have a marinero or local diner prepare it fresh for dinner.
• Night owls: Alux, Deseo, Capitan Tutix, Om Lounge and the Blue Parrot - stay awhile or hit them all.
• Native-bent: If you're putting down roots in Playa del Carmen, condominiums are available near these attractions.

With a bit of planning beforehand and a little imagination once you're there, your trip to Mexico is sure to be as stimulating or relaxing as you want it to be - and every bit as memorable as you make it.

Although we sometimes use the term "tropical" to describe the weather, the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, is actually considered a subtropical region. It's a warm, humid place with temperatures year-round averaging 80 degrees Fahrenheit. However, there are cooler months from November through January and rain and occasional hurricanes the summer months. These are things you can keep in mind when considering condo rentals in Playa del Carmen. If you come for the shopping and culture and are not overly concerned with getting a lot of time on the beach, you may get better rates on airfare and rentals in the "off-season."

If you're really lucky, you might find another couple or family who is interested in getting Playa del Carmen lodgings for the summer months, while you lodge in the winter. This is a great opportunity to explore a long-term lease or even a purchase or one of the many Playa del Carmen condominiums.
